Old Batiks

Found some old batiks that I used for demonstration
to my high school classes over 25 years ago.
Decided to use them as back ground for some small quilts
which are 12" x 14".

27 Quilts to Pay it Forward

Paying it Forward in honor of the students and adults who
were lost in the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy.
These are the last 10 quilts that complete my project of 27 quilts.
They were given to the Pieceful Mountain Quilt Guild to distribute to
organizations in our community. This is part of our Quilts of Comfort project in which we
donate quilts to DFAC's, nursing homes, sheriff's department, etc.

Pay It Forward

After the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary in
Newtown, Connecticut,
I wanted to do something.  Ann Curry talked about "Paying it Forward".
That is when I decided to make 27 quilts to give to people in my community.
Through Pieceful Mountain Quilt Guild, I am donating these quilts to be part of the
Quilts of Comfort that are given to Family and Children Services, nursing homes and
the sheriff's department.  The sheriff's department keeps the quilts in the trunk of their cruisers so when
they have to remove a child from a home, they will have something to give the child.
I hope that these quilts will send a message of kindness to those they touch.
