Emma's Napper

Emma, my granddaughter, went to see Toy Story. She loves Woody and Buzz. So much so that while wearing her princess tiara insisted her mother buy her boots with the characters on them that were in the boys shoes. I made her a new napper for her naps at day care. It has a sheet attached as well as a pillow and it rolls up to tie for caring it home.

Three Cousins circa 1922

I have always loved this photograph of my mother (right) and her sister with their cousin from Virginia. I printed it on fabric. For the background I used some of my discharged fabric with leaves and evergreen needles on it. I added stamped images of leaves. On the left there is an orange produce bag with leaves "free-motion" sewn over it.

Peyton's Trees

This quilt is based on one of Peyton's paintings that he did for his senior show at Atlanta College of Art. I used the discharge method to create the negative space. Since this is an whole cloth quilt, I quilted in the negative space.

Amaryllis

My goal for the last couple of days has been to reorganize my studio. This led to the discovery of old projects that had not been finished. I have started tackling some of these UFO's. The Amaryllis quilt was the first one that I completed. I started it about 7 years ago and ran into some road blocks. I have learned what to do with those.

Castaway Critters

Purse made for the animal shelter in Hiawassee to use for their silent auction.

Bear Paw Quilt

This is the quilt made by the Pieceful Mountain Quilt Guild in Blue Ridge, GA. It is being sent to the Georgia Quilt Council to be auctioned off in January 2011. The center is the one that I created.

Before BP

I used some of my shibori dyed fabric for the background. Learned some new methods with different materials at a workshop this week with Fiber on a Whim. Love the results.
